Three scientists jointly received the Nobel Prize in Physics for the year 2022. These include Alain Aspect, John F. Klauser, and Anton Zeilinger. This award has been given to them for their better works in the field of “quantum mechanics”. They will share the prize money of 10 million Swedish krona (7.45 crore in INR).
The Nobel Prize-giving organization announced it by tweeting. In its tweet, the organization wrote, “The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics to Alain Aspect, John F. Clauser, and Anton Zeilinger.”

Prize Motivation
for experiments with entangled photons, establishing the violation of Bell inequalities and pioneering quantum information science
They have conducted groundbreaking experiments using entangled quantum states, where two particles behave like a single unit even when they are separated. The results have cleared the way for new technology based upon quantum information.
Prize Announcement
Nobel prize in Physics 2022 was announced by professor Hans Ellegren, secretary general of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, on 4 October 2022.
Why is the Nobel Prize given?
The prize was established by Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite and a wealthy Swedish businessman. He arranged it in his will in 1896, a year before his death.
