Rotational Kinetic Energy

Rotational kinetic energy is a part of the total kinetic energy of a rolling object and it is due to the rotation of the object.

The rotational kinetic energy of an object is given by;

K.E. = \dfrac{1}{2} I \omega^2

Where I is the moment of inertia of the body about the axis of rotation, and \omega is the angular velocity of the body about the axis of rotation.

Since it’s a kind of energy so Its SI unit is the joule (J).
